Image Hotlinking

Today, somebody posted a link to a image from a skin-head site. The link
to that image was password protected thus prompting everyone who had
logged on BW a pop up prompt to log in at the skin-head site.

From now on, members here at BW need to be more responsible when
posting images. If the image you want to post is located at a hate site
or porn site, the chances of this kind of thing happening are increased.

So I ask you, please do not post anymore images with links directly from porn sites or
hate sites. If you need to post the image, save the image on your computer
then use a service like Photobucket or ImageShack to create a link for it.

I understand all this but I have just... one... question...

If the person who had posted the picture from the hate site was able to access the picture through a password; and we weren't, is it a healthy thing to think that said member is a denizen of that site.

Before we start jumping to conclusions...and to be fair....the site in question said on it's
banner that it was a non-racist, non-political website for skinheads.

The vast majority of people associate skinheads with racist or Neo-Nazi
groups but several months ago it was brought to my attention that some
people are admitted skinheads yet have no political or racist agenda and
that they have just simply immersed themselves into the style and culture of the skinhead society.

I have noticed, there is a certain style and look to the men and women
who are self proclaimed skinheads. For example there is a certain look to
those who submerge themselves into the Goth culture or hip hop culture.

Now whether you want to believe its racist or not, is strictly your prerogative.

The purpose of this thread wasn't intended to scrutinize anyone nor make
any implications. I just don't want my site acting funky because somebody
decided to use a link to a image from a very private or strange website.

That's fine; but you did put in the original post a reference to hate sites.
