obviously you know nothing about the legal system. it WASNT his car, they have already been spotted on camera leaving the bar and then not much later after leaving the bar they wrecked. not at any point in that time did rey supply her with alcohol, the bar did. there were no open containers in the car. he has NOTHING to worry about in regards to supplying minors with alcohol. it is all on the bar and that bar is going to be in a heap of trouble because this is far from the first time they have been busted on this but they supplied someone who wasnt even 18 which is even worse.

Officers say Maualuga had two women in the car with him at the time of his crash. He's being held without bond. He'll appear before a judge this morning.

One of them being 17.

Incorrect, if he brought them into the bar, yes. If they're int eh bar, since you have to be 21 to be in a bar, he should safely assume they're 21, correct? It's ont he bar for not carding them if htey came seperately and he met them there.

This is all about motive. You don't know if they were both inebriated and he thought they were both 21 and in that sense the only way to know would have been to check their IDs (which may have also been fake) or whatever. And if they're at a bar he's assuming they're 21 and if they're going home with him and drunk, then blah blah blah.

Right now, he's only in trouble for DUI I would have to believe...However, depending on how the story & everything plays out, he could be in even more trouble. We just have no idea what hte whole story is.

IT WAS THE 17 year old girls car. i happen to know both of them as i used to student teach and sub at Fairfield and spoke with one of the teachers who actually currently teaches them. you found ONE site to claim it was his car while every other report AND the police report quote it as her car. so unless he chose to go out and buy the same car as her and the cop fucked up the report then it isnt his car. sweet try though.

All of this falls back on the bar, even if they prove they were drunk before they got there. Trust me, I worked in a bar. If someone under 21 comes into your bar regardless if you sold them 1 drink, you are responsible for them.

My guess is since the girls came in with Rey, the bar looked the other way and let me them in. Big mistake. Rey's only charge should be drunk/reckless driving.

When I was 17 I hung out with guys who were over 21, the age difference really shouldn't mean much.

17 can lead to legal troubles later on if she decided to be a bitch about it.

It falls on the bar for the drunkeness of the girls. Rey will have reckless op/failure to control and DUI charges. Plus pay for all the damages.

That depends on if the place they went to is a 18+ or a 21+, if 18+ then the one girl is there legally while possibly purchasing something illegally (assuming Rey didnt get for her) the 17 year old was there illegally.

I do however think we can safely assume that both girls were drunk otherwise I'd imagine one of them would have drove.

After being arrested early Friday on charges of drunken driving and careless driving, Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga apologized for his actions on his Twitter account Monday morning.

Maualuga sent three consecutive Tweets expressing his remorse for the incident:

Maualuga, who had 63 tackles and one sack in his rookie season before injuring his ankle in Week 16 vs. the Chiefs, faces a pre-trial conference on Feb. 25.

He also faces possible discipline under the NFL's personal conduct policy.

um he was using internet short hand because of a character limit. and a press conference is something you do to satisfy the media. he was doing this to speak directly to the fans he interacts with constantly. you know the same fans he went to twitter to invite to his bday party (which he paid the cover for anyone who showed up). going to twitter was the smart thing. quit trying to be an asshat.

While I agree that using twitter speak makes a person look extremely unintelligent (save the character limit b.s for someone else), Rey wasn't holding a press conference, talking to his coaches, or the media. He was talking to his fans, reassuring them. If you don't like it- I suggest you don't twitter.
